Purpose and Intent
The TaG
Masters Series is a limited racing series of 10 events, with the best 8 points finishes
applied to the championship points total, for racers aged of 35 and older. Scoring
for the Series will be as per the standards used for all competition classes at
Badger Kart Club. The purpose of the series is to provide a racing opportunity for
adult racers to participate in a format that fits busy business schedules, that
is focused on the ideals of club level racing for fun and recreation. The Masters
Series is not an official club class, which will be subject to track time and placement
by the Badger Kart Club Race Director. Participants must be members of the TaG Masters
Series in good standing.
Responsibilities
All members
of the TaG Masters Series are responsible for remaining proactively informed of
all scheduled race dates, current rules in force, and announcements made on the
Badger Kart Club web site TAG Forum, emails sent by the Series Administrator, and/or
published in the Badger Kart Club newsletter. Series participants are also required
to be familiar with the technical specifications and rules.
To be eligible for year championship awards, all members of the TAG Masters are
required to work the bye week assigned for the Badger TAG Senior class, or one Badger
hosted special event. Substitute worker participation is allowed with prior notice
to the series director.
New Drivers: All new drivers to the TaG Masters Series will at minimum
run their first race starting from the back of the field for both heats and the
feature. Starting position for subsequent races will be at the sole discretion
of the Series Director.
Race Start
Procedure: For safety purposes the random
draw system has been modified as follows to minimize the number of accidents
that typically occur in the early laps of a race.
The new starting procedure will continue to be a random draw system that will
now consist of two groups racing at the same time. The “A” draw will be for the
more experienced entrant. The “B” draw will be for the new entrants and those
still honing their competition skills. The “A” draw will line up in front of the
“B” draw for both heats. Entrants will be placed in the feature based on
finishes achieved regardless of starting group. Entrants will be placed in the
appropriate group based on experience and speed. The placement will be made by
the Series Director in consultation with the entrant and the Badger Race
Committee.
Event Regulations
TaG Masters
Series participants shall comply with all general Badger Kart Club rules and regulations.

Rain Outs:
If both heat races have been completed on a race
day and the feature is not run due to weather or other conditions, points will
be awarded on a 2/3’s basis of the points awarded for a full race day schedule
based each drivers starting position for the feature. Feature races that are red flagged at any time after taking the green will be scored by position at the time of the red flag.
DNF (Did Not Finish):
Drivers failing to finish within the feature will be scored based on position at the finish of the race, in order of failure to finish. In the instance of two or more karts failing to finish on the same lap, order will be established based on last official recorded positions.
DNS (Did Not start):
To qualify for a DNS, the driver must have taken the green flag in at least one Heat Race. DNS will be scored based on the order of grid position for the Feature Race, behind all finishers, and DNF's.
