Its official we
are racing under the lights on June 20th at the Briggs Motorplex inside Road
The event will
feature a 3 session knock out qualifying format followed by a 15 lap pre-final
and a 20 final. Better start eating your Wheaties and
hitting the gym. The knock-out qualify format will be a 5 minute timed session
with X number of drivers advancing to the next session based on the fastest
times posted. Each session will be separated by several RAKC on track events
giving drivers a chance to work on their set ups or put on that new set of
sticker tires. Prizes will be awarded in each session with the fastest
qualifier the winning a new pair of Sparco driving
gloves provided by Fastech. There will also be a
grand prize for the winner of the nights 20 lap final
We will also be
having a cook-out between the completion of practice
and qualifying/racing. Franklin Motorsports will provide the brats and we are
asking that everyone bring a dish to pass. In order to get a reading on how
many brats we are going to need please let George know how many too expect from
your group, i.e. wife, children, significant others and friends by June 17th.
At the completion of the nights racing FMS has also graciously offered to
provide beer and other refreshments.
For those
familiar with the track you will note from the picture below that we will not
be using the full lay out due to a lack of lighting going to the top of the
hill. There will still be plenty of elevation change to provide an extra
thrill.
